About CableSpring

CableSpring is the novel, patented solution for dynamic cable configuration in Floating Offshore Wind. This patented innovation redefines industry standards by enabling installations where traditional cable configurations fall short. Designed to enhance flexibility in floater movement, CableSpring’s unique step-down design also makes it ideal for even the shallowest waters.

At SeaThor, we specialise in solving the toughest cable challenges. Working closely with developers, installation contractors, and cable manufacturers, we leverage our deep expertise to bring cutting-edge solutions to market. CableSpring is the result—delivering reliability, adaptability, and performance to meet the demands of your offshore wind projects.

CableSpring Design

Consisting of bespoke designed buoyancy modules and mating CableSpring stiffener modules providing inherent stiffness in the transition between uplifts protecting the asset during service life. CableSpring provides a graduated seabed stepdown, generating an expansion and contraction spring effect allowing a reduction in tension and curvature ranges significantly increasing the allowable floater offsets and reducing requirements on mooring systems.

CableSpring Installation

CableSpring has been designed with installation in mind, the team at SeaThor have been involved in multiple offshore campaigns and know the value of an easily installed system.  CableSpring has been designed with to be fully split, to allow for installation at pre-deployment – avoiding the need for pre-termination installation. The system is fully modular, allowing for elements to be added or removed to suit client requirement.
